Kariong Library is celebrating 21 years service to the community and you are invited to join the celebrations.

Birthday Storytime
On Thursday 15 June at 10.45am preschool aged children and their families are invited to join us for a special birthday Storytime. Enjoy songs, stories and craft followed by birthday cake.

Help decorate the space
Help create a section of bunting to decorate the library. All ages are invited to visit the library over the next few weeks and add their creative touch to the birthday decorations. Opening hours are 9.30am-12.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 1.30-4.30pm on Wednesdays.

Join in a craft workshop
On Thursday 15 June grown ups can get creative at a Kokedama or Clay Homewares workshop for only $10.50 a ticket. Bookings essential.

Join the Library
Membership to Kariong library is free and provides access to all ten library branches on the Central Coast and the eLibrary. Sign up online or visit any branch during staffed hours.

A little bit about Kariong Library

Currently located in ‘The Hill’ building next to Kariong oval, Kariong Library first opened in June 2002.

Initially it occupied a shop in Kariong Shopping Centre in Curringa Rd but by 2006 it had outgrown the space and moved to a larger premises in the same centre.

During COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 Kariong Library moved to its current location next to the sports oval.

Visitors can borrow library items, collect reservations, access wi-fi and internet computers as well as use the space for reading or study.

A wide range of children’s literacy programs are run out of Kariong branch, and it is also home to many of the behind-the-scenes staff who support the library service. All our new library items are delivered here, processed into our collection, and made ready to borrow.
