Transcribing Local History Resources

When

Location

Tuggerah Library
Westfield Shopping Centre, 50 Wyong Rd
Tuggerah NSW 2259

When invaluable historical resources are uploaded to a digital format for preservation and ease of access there is an additional step which helps to make the information more accessible for everyone.

As the computer systems cannot always interpret the intended wording correctly, sometimes there are errors in the automatically generated transcribed text.

Join us as we show how you can help correct these errors and contribute to the preservation of this historical information.

We will be looking at resources such as Central Coast Voices and Trove, guiding you through the program, locating materials to transcribe and running through some examples.

This is a practical session and there will be opportunities for you to transcribe online resources. Please bring along your own laptop or tablet and headphones.*

Bookings essential. Book online using the 'Book now' button, ask in any library branch or phone 4350 1560.

* A limited number of devices will be available during the session - please let us know if you would like to borrow one.
