Beginners chess class at Kincumber Library

Whether you're brand new to chess or looking to brush up on the fundamentals, this one-hour class is the perfect place to start. You'll get a clear, engaging introduction to the game, including how to set up the board, how each piece moves and essential strategies and tactics.

No experience required - just curiosity and willingness to learn. Come away with a stronger foundation and maybe even a few winning moves! You are welcome to bring along your own chess board and pieces if you have one, however this is not required.

Alex - chess class facilitator - has 30+ years experience playing chess and explains things in a clear, fun way. He has been part of library chess clubs in Sydney and Melbourne.
